🎯 purpose
- this is the system i use to build, organize, and evolve my digital garden
- it exists so i don’t have to rethink structure every time i add something
🧱 structure rules
- filenames → lowercase, kebab-case, no emojis
- titles → expressive, can include emojis
- maps → navigation hubs (type: map or index)
- notes → ideas, thinking, patterns
- archive → chaos collections (memes, signals, etc.)
🗺️ navigation model
- everything connects through maps
- no orphan notes
- homepage links only to major maps (not everything)
core maps:
🌱 growth model
- seed → messy idea
- growing → expanded
- evergreen → stable
- compost → no longer useful
- nothing starts clean and that’s fine
🧠 thinking style
- structured, but flexible
- clarity > completeness
- simple first, refine later
- iterate instead of perfecting
- if something feels stuck, it’s probably too complicated
🎨 tone
- slightly chaotic but controlled
- minimal, clean, intentional
- nothing here is ever truly finished
🧭 system use
- build structure before adding volume
- connect notes as i go, not later
- use maps to reduce overwhelm
- keep things lightweight and navigable
🚫 anti-patterns
- too many top-level pages
- unlinked notes
- overbuilding structure before content exists
- making it “perfect” before it’s useful
- rigid systems that make adding notes harder
🌿 reminder
- this is a living system
- it should evolve as the garden grows
- if this ever feels organized, something has gone wrong
